Important IMeye Information

Quite a wild month or two here at the IMeye labs.  There has been much going on that we needed to address to make sure that IMeye remains the absolute best tool for keyword research and domain acquisition.

Google completely changes their search estimates
*************************************

For the first time in a LONG while, Google has completely changed their search estimates for keywords.  This is likely annoying news in the short term, but excellent news in the “medium term”.  Since IMeye is a snapshot in time of keyword data, the absolute search volume #’s from Google have been out of sync with Imeye.  Now, it still means that you’re able to find high volume keywords and low competition etc…but, matching it up exactly to Google has been a problem.  Of course, we’ve been working on this and had to make some big changes to our infrastructure to support the new way that Google is providing data.  That’s the annoying “short term” news. Does Having the Keyword Phrase in the Domain Really Matter? - Not so much

Tue, Sep 14, 2010

There has been much written over the years about the importance of having the keyword phrase that you’re optimizing for in the domain name.  So for example, if you’re optimizing and want to show up in the search listings for “red widgets”, then the following domains would help you to do that:

best-red-widgets.com

red-widgets-forsale.com

redwidgets-bestones.com

And…if you could get the exact match domain (www.redwidgets.com), meaning the domain name is exactly the keyword phrase you’re optimizing for with no dashes or any other words etc…all the better!  That would REALLY help. (more…)

SEO is DEAD!!! - not…

Well, here we go.  Google instant is announced and everyone is starting to write blog posts about how SEO is now dead and meaningless.  So silly.

Certainly things are changing, and this will have some effect, but we need to focus on what it actually does.

In my mind it does two things.  First, it “steers” people towards a certain keyword phrase over others.  This has obvious implications on search volumes.  Some of your targets will get more, others will get less.  Could be good , bad, or indifferent for you.  It has zero impact on who shows up for a given phrase though.  So, my take away is watch your stats and see if certain keyword phrases are falling out of “favor”, then you may have to adjust your SEO towards other phrases.

Example:  I checked one of our ecommerce sites.  We target “widgets” and “widgets for sale ” among others.  As I typed in widgets, my eyes scanned directly to widgets for sale.  Now, this actually ends up being better for us as we rank higher for that.  But…I just need to watch the stats and perhaps move SEO resources form “widgets” to “widgets for sale”

The second thing it will do is expand the “horizons” of searchers.  It may very well increase searches as people go after the initial term they were looking for … as well as others they see presented to them.  This, in general is probably good for us as advertisers (organic or paid).  We may have more chances than before to put our message in front of potential buyers.  Again, I think the key is to watch the stats and see if traffic starting to show up for other terms.  You may need to modify your SEO targets due to this as well.

What’s less clear to me right now is the impact on adwords.  Stand by as we try to unravel that.

Check out this very balanced blog post for some more insight into SEO not being dead!

Just to let you know that we’re running a complete data refresh on all the Google SERPs results in IMeye.

So if you happen to receive an error popup when selecting “Google Search Results” from the right click menu, don’t worry, the data will be back very soon…

As you can imagine we have a lot of data to process (close to 50 million domains!) though we would expect the whole process to be completed within the next 24 hours.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Three minutes with IMeye yields $60,000 opportunity (It’s all about the domains!)

There are quite a few domain tools out there lately.   Tools that help you find domains to register, or domains to buy at auction, or maybe even to find keyword phrases that have exact match domains available (an increasingly RARE thing, where the keyword phrase is exactly the same as the domain name).  They’re all lovely and perform a service, but…like Keyword Research…the domain component of IMeye is a bit different! Wow…it’s been less than a month since we let our secret project (IMeye) out of the bag, and the response has been overwhelming.  There are SO many people already building so many little businesses around opportunities they’ve found.  We knew it would be good, but it’s been even better than we’d thought. IMeye Domain Functionality Now 300% More Betterer

Bad grammar not withstanding…our partner Register Compass really came through for us and has given us a huge increase in the number of domains we’re tracking each day.

At any given moment in time, IMeye now has 13,000 domains that are expiring, expired or up for auction.  All of these domains already rank on the first page of Google. These domains change every single day!

I’m not sure how it ever gets any easier than this.

Real World IMeye Example #1

Tue, Apr 20, 2010

Let’s look at a real world example of just one way to use IMeye.

I encourage you to use this, not as a literal paint by numbers example to follow…BUT…as a way to understand the tool and be able to apply it yourself and use it in many different ways to help you make money online.

To beat my hammer analogy to death, I want to show you how to use the front surface of the hammer to pound in a nail, in the hopes that you completely understand its purpose and its potential so you could use it to pound a peg into a hole or something else.  The whole idea being…these examples I’ll give (now and in the near future) are just ways to use this powerful tool.  There are practically an infinite number of things you can really do once you get in the right  mindset of how to use this tool.  This point is REALLY important as I’ve had a few people actually take ALL the examples that I gave in the IMeye tutorial videos and simply combine them together into one big search criteria, thereby looking for a perfect SEO keyword, AND a perfect adwords keyword, AND where there’s an exact match domain , AND where the exact match domain is for sale etc. etc.  Obviously, there aren’t many keywords that will meet that!  This is not the way to use the tool.  The idea is to look for targeted opportunities given a “perfect storm” of key indicators where you can hit the ground running and have a leg up on ways to make money online….let’s take a look at what I mean. IMeye Customers Now Get Even More Value!

Thu, Apr 15, 2010

First off, we’ve been thrilled by the response from IMeye customers.  It’s gratifying to work so hard on something for so long and see folks really getting great benefit from it.  One of the things that’s shocked us, really…is how many relatively new marketers have joined us.  We really thought that IMeye would appeal mostly to the more experienced Internet marketer who could make the most out of the opportunities presented.  Don’t get me wrong!  We’re thrilled to have these people, but we are worried they’re not prepared to take full advantage of IMeye.  So, to help with that, we are announcing that IMMEDIATELY, all IMeye customers will get access to our beginner’s product called Mining Money Online at absolutely no cost.

This product should level the playing field and give everyone the background in Internet marketing to take full advantage of all IMeye opportunities

You may access Mining Money Online here with your same IMeye username and password :

==>  http://www.miningmoneyonline.com/download

In addition, to further help everyone make the most from IMeye, I will be doing a series of VERY detailed examples of how we use IMeye, and posting these once a week.  The first one will coincide with a small enhancement to IMeye later in this week.  We’ll be adding a “What’s New” tab to make sure you’re always kept up to date.  Each time I post an example, it will be broadcast here!
