Real World IMeye Example #1

IMeye

Let’s look at a real world example of just one way to use IMeye.

I encourage you to use this, not as a literal paint by numbers example to follow…BUT…as a way to understand the tool and be able to apply it yourself and use it in many different ways to help you make money online.

To beat my hammer analogy to death, I want to show you how to use the front surface of the hammer to pound in a nail, in the hopes that you completely understand its purpose and its potential so you could use it to pound a peg into a hole or something else.  The whole idea being…these examples I’ll give (now and in the near future) are just ways to use this powerful tool.  There are practically an infinite number of things you can really do once you get in the right  mindset of how to use this tool.  This point is REALLY important as I’ve had a few people actually take ALL the examples that I gave in the IMeye tutorial videos and simply combine them together into one big search criteria, thereby looking for a perfect SEO keyword, AND a perfect adwords keyword, AND where there’s an exact match domain , AND where the exact match domain is for sale etc. etc.  Obviously, there aren’t many keywords that will meet that!  This is not the way to use the tool.  The idea is to look for targeted opportunities given a “perfect storm” of key indicators where you can hit the ground running and have a leg up on ways to make money online….let’s take a look at what I mean.

Let’s say I want to do a new affiliate marketing project, and I’m looking for an SEO project.  I find it’s best to start with the traffic source that I plan on using for a new project as that drives many search parameters.

So, the first thing I’ll set is my monthly search volume minimum.  I normally set that to no lower than 15,000 in the hopes of getting 100 visitors per day (see the intro video for the “math” behind that), but for this…I know there will be LOTS of opportunities so I’ll be a bit more greedy.  I’ll set it to 30,000 minimum.  The goal of this filter and column is to make sure there is enough search volume out there to make it worth my time to invest in a project.  Please note, if I were doing an adwords project I would’ve set the minimum number of searches MUCH higher as discussed in the tutorial videos.

Next I want to set the level of competition I’m comfortable with going after.  I’ll do that with the competing pages and intitle columns.  These two metrics are certainly not the complete picture of competition, but…in my experience they are almost always VERY important key indicators.  I want something pretty easy to compete, so I’ll set competing pages at no more than 500,000 and intitle at no more than 50,000.

As a guide, I think of 0-50,000 competing pages as VERY easy to compete; 50,001 - 250,000 competing pages as EASY to compete; 250,0001 - 500,000 as MEDIUM to compete and over 500,000 as HARD to compete.   For intitle…I consider 0 - 20,000 as VERY easy ; 10,001 - 50,000 as EASY ; 50,001 - 75,000 as MEDIUM and anything over 75,000 as HARD.

So far we have it set to give us a nice amount of searches, and a medium/easy level of competition as measured by competing pages and intitle.

Then, what I do…is just randomly bounce around the results!  Any and all of these keywords…and there are a LOT of them… are good candidates for a project (in fact, you could be even more greedy with the search volumes and/or competition levels etc.).

I found this keyword: “maxillary sinus”

It gets 40,000 searches per month and running it through Keyword Blueprint I got a green check and a score of 10 (which is right in the middle…a medium!) so I’m good to go.  I run it through Keyword Blueprint to check the data in real time AND to completely evaluate the SEO competition as Keyword Blueprint looks at much more than just intitle and competing pages.  It examines the strength of the top 10 competitors for that keyword.

Now, what do I “do” or sell ?  Well, it’s helpful to learn what the heck that keyword is and see if there’s really any commercial viability.  So I simply do a google search for it.  The returned results show much discussion about sinusitis and cures etc.  I then went over to Clickbank and did a search in the marketplace for “sinus”.  There were several results.  I could easily pick one of these and build an affiliate site for one of them.

Now, if you know how to build affiliate sites and then do “SEO” to get your site ranked.  GREAT!  If you do not, here’s where your access to Mining Money Online comes in (see the tutorial/videos page for access).  This beginner’s course will walk you through how to build a site and how to do SEO.

So…we’ve found an opportunity and we found something to sell, and we have the training and tools to make it happen.

I’ll be doing more of these in the near future…so watch this space!

Steve - Great Post! Thanks for the update… one quick question. In this example, it sounds like you’re not using the 30/100 equation spoken of in Commission Blueprint. It sounds like you’re looking at this as an SEO opportunity and not from a PPC point of view. Is that correct?

  2. Steve Says:

    @Craig- yup…that’s right…only an SEO opportunity, I’ll do a PPC one next.

Hey Steve, no apology needed for the hammer analogy. Some of us are either har-headed or dense :) Thanks for this training as it’s a big temptation to look for the golden needle in the haystack and never really get started with a project. Reasonable stats and action trumps continuous research, right?

I have question : what if the expiring domain that show on first page when i use the SEO model with market samurai it tell it has 2 backlinks and zero page rank !!

does that mean it will disapear from first page as soon as i buy it and add new content?

  5. Steve Says:

@Zane - Backlinks and pagerank measurements couldn’t be anymore inaccurate! Not Market Samurai’s fault, mind you, it’s just the nature of the beast. Page Rank is only updated once every couple of months and many backlinks never show up in backlink checking tools.

So, you’d love to see a PR 5 with 1000 backlinks…but not seeing that doesn’t necessarily mean bad things…and certainly doesn’t mean it will drop from the SERPS.

  6. Steve Says:

I should add, before someone corrects me, that page rank is actually updated “internally” to Google VERY often…maybe daily etc….but, the pagerank we can see … is not

Thanks Steve :) that was a Relief

I do have another question I found some keywords do show a golden star at keyword blueprint but when i test it with the seo module using market samurai the table show lost of pink and yellow colour with less green

do you recommend to test the keyword with seo module or just go for the golden star with keyword blueprint

  11. Syracuse Marketing Agency Says:
