Hopefully everyone’s heard about the new “caffeine” update that’s coming to Google after the holidays.
It’s a change to the algorithms that will have some sites see improvements in their search engine rankings…and others..well, not so much.
Wouldn’t it be great to see what’s going to happen?
Well..an enterprising individual has created a great tool that will allow you to type in a keyword phrase and compare where you are now…and where you’ll be once caffeine is rolled out.
QUICK UPDATE: This is not Google’s caffeine sandbox that was turned off, this uses the results from one data center where Google has confirmed that caffeine has been rolled out to.

I have heard that google will ban IP for checking the rankings. Will the same happens here?

No, not at all
Google has confirmed that this data center has the caffeine update. There’s no danger at all to checking your rankings with this tool.

Hi Steve,
I’m interested in NB2. When is the launch happening? Will everything from NB1 be there too or should I purchase both for a total knowledge?
Thanks!

Launch is on January 11, 2010!
I’d wait at this point…NB 2.0 will have all the content from NB 1.0, but major updates and new software etc.
There will be a nice inexpensive upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0, but we’re almost there anyway…and who’s going to do much over the holidays?

hey steve this is going to affect the e-commerce site
December 14th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
@andre it could have an effect on any site…I’ve seen zero changes in our e-commerce sites though.

Steve–Thanks so much! I’m buying….and not from someone’s aff. link;)

One last question Steve— is it realistic to make $100,000 per year in profit with NB2?
December 14th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
@jeffrey You’re welcome. And .. yes…I totally think so. Probably it’s realistic to think it would come from 2-3 stores that are up and running…but, it all depends of course.
December 14th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
Great! I’m excited!
December 15th, 2009 at 1:00 am
hey steve
but how to manage 2 or 4 store when people call to ask question of the products i know you will teach this on nb2 but is not that heard to manage 2 or 4 store
December 15th, 2009 at 5:12 am
Andre,
I would assume you have answering machines setup for each store. Customers just see that you have that # up there and it gives them security…you probably won’t be getting that many calls…and if you are–and you’re making 100k per year..hire someone!

Dan Theies who is about as reputable of a source as there is in the SEO said the exact opposite in regards to comparing Caffeine with current Google.
He said since Caffeine is only in the testing phase, it probably doesn’t have all the anti spam algos programmed into it. So, if you site ranks better in Caffeine than it does at Google.com, than that is a bad sign because it doesn’t yet have those anti-spam parameters, but will once it is full integrated.
Unless this tool is indeed using a version of Caffeine that is complete, I’d say that you want to rank better in the regular Google than Caffeine.

Caffeine sandbox gives faster result, more relevant real time result. It will change the way Google index website and add more feature to determine page rank of any web page.
